In a tight commodity business creating unique and viable ways to reduce cost and improve efficiency, while keeping customers happy, separates the wildly successful from the run of the mill.
One of Canada’s largest promotional USB Drive suppliers wanted to create a cheaper USB Flash Drive. As these are highly commoditized products, offering a lower cost will result in increased volume. While all other suppliers were using NAND flash and a normal USB Flash Drive IC to manufacture their products, SZCEIT custom-designed a PCB to support using a MicroSD and a card reader IC instead of a USB Drive IC. The components required for this alternative solution could save up to 10% off the cost of a traditional flash drive.
Today many companies offer alternative memory options to lower the cost of a USB Flash Drive, but SZCEIT achieved this a full two years before the market caught on. When Clients bring us their ‘out of the box’ ideas SZCEIT helps them redefine the box.
